Firework Technology

Fireworks are popular entertainment, and rarely seen outside of the River Kingdoms. The Jianro, who jealously protect the secrets of blast powder, have created any number of innovations in the field, but perhaps the most well known are firework weapons such as Hornet Nests and Rocket Batteries.

Access & Availability

The Jianro, the human population of The Whispering Madness, jealously protect firework technology from outsiders, even officials of the Empire they are a part of. The Twentieth Special Legion, the Whispering Guard, is a compromise. Jianro soldiers exclusively make up the unit, create their own weapons, and even supply their own officers.

Discovery

Jianro myth tells that the secrets of blast powder were given to them by Zhaoze Muqin, their protector goddess. Certainly the invention of firework weaponry predates the Empire's founding, as records and oral histories show that the Jianro engaged early Skaldorian scouting parties with rockets. As all attempts to replicate the technology have failed, it is believed that the materials for blast powder only occur in the swamp itself.
