beginning- as march began the emperor was back in the imperial capital still keeping his wife secret. he rested back into his throne and began ruling once again. however by this time varen was marching his army towards the capital. he first took reichendorf and declared himself varen 1st
Emperor of verianberg. georg found out two week later and started gathering his own army. his loyalist gathered there own forces as well. the hizenberg were his main supporters but there armys were south of reichensdorf and were under attack from varen main alle the hallsberg of zherik.
battle of flowerfield-the battle of flowerfield was the first major engagement of the uprising. the hizenberg army of some 7000 men at arms and 300 knight under the command of the empress younger brother luipold. he was attacked from north and south. varen commanded come 6000 men alone with his father in law commanding another 3000 marched from the south. Varens force included
San antionan Crossbowmen. the put themselves in the flowerfield north of luipold position and rained bots down on his men. luipold was killed by a bolt early in the battle and the count Fredrick stormberg took command of the loyalist army. after about 4 hours the battle was over with only 500 men escaping mostly knights. this allowed for varen and his father in law to gather there forces. after this battle main lords chose. to support varen. the emperor started to gather troops to his banner from those still loyal to him. this host came to a around 32000 men. the emperor would lead this army in person ordering some 200 loyal knights to the imperial estate to take the princess and empress there for there safety. while the pregnant luceria was sent home with an escort of 100 men.
battle of the imperial capital-by September that year the two emperor were ready for battle. varen host was some 40000 men with 1000 knights and 4000 other cavalry. Georg was able to muster some 32000 men mostly unexperienced levies. he had 800 mounted knights with only a few other hand full cavalry units mostly outriders. he had few archers or crossbowmen. the battle took place outside the capital in a great field. georg and his knights were in the rear with his sword and spear infantry in a long line with his archers behind the. Varen's army had the cavalry in a massive wedge with the infantry arraigned in a crescent to surround the enemy army. the battle began at lunch after gerogs attempt to fight varens champion in place of there army was rejected. Varen charged at the head of his Calvary and smashed through the line of spear and sword infantry. it fell apart almost instantly and many men dropped there weapons and feld. the emperor gathered his Calvary and made a counter charge meting his cousin in battle
white lion in hand. the emperor was struck with a mace which threw him from his saddle and he fell the the ground. his bodyguard Istvan of
House of Jagiellonian jumped from his saddle to save the emperor only to be struck in the shoulder by a crossbow bolt. georg took his sword up and killed another man. he was then confronted by Varen a far better swords man. the two grandsons of peter 2nd came to blows. georg was the first to bleed after he was slashed in the arm. sir istvan cam to his rescue only to be killed by varen. another knight a Frankish mercenary Francis de boon stepped before the two cousins. he was only 19 years old and he held his own only to be killed when another knight struck him in the back of the head with a morningstar. georg came to his feat and fought back and wounded his cousin but this allowed varen to draw a dagger and kill the emperor ending the battle.
the death of the empress and crown Kasiern- with her husband dead empress Josephine knew she was not safe and nor was her daughter. at the imperial estate there was only 400 men at arms and the 200 knights that the emperor had sent to protect the empress and his daughter. varen marched south with 7000 men and siege equipment to attack the imperial palace. they arrived and ordered that the empress be given to them. sir Andrew Jagiellonian out right refused and offered single combat to the userper. what happened next was horrifying. the army of varen attacked the estate slaughtering the garrison and burning the estate. the men at arms raped the women and girls who lived there and the empress was killed and sir andrew was cut down. the crown kaisern was posined the next day.
