the old faith or the elven religion is a region with many gods and is many followed by the elven race or what is left of it and the magaran people and is the state religion of the the regency of magara

the way the elven faith was structred has changed over the centruies which is has existed.

Culture

the cultures of the relgion has changed over the centries. while all elves belive in there gods depending on what type of elf you are depoends on what sect you fall into. for example Dark elves how a predispesiton to worship to layoth.

History

foudning and ealy scripts- the first thing which stands out to scollars is the name of the god panthon of the elves is its name. avalenvu is not an elvish word however elves know that it translates to they who dance among the stars. arya is know as the cu'laya avalenvu queen of they who dance amnong the stars. what is this languge, none know really. the elvish word for stars is ineth, and queen is ria'dar (the femine word for king becuase the first queen was the daughter of a queen)

Mythology & Lore

the birth of the world- elves believe that in the beginning arya queen of the avalenvu the goddess of all shaped the world. her son thenmir the master of forging made the mountains. her eldest daughter lethnia made water and made it into the seas and the oceans, the rivers and steams and lakes. the youngest son kironus and his wife Gwyneth created the forest and the beast of the forests while arya herself created the rest of the wild life and the elven people themselves. but arya and her Child's world wilted and died in the darkness and arya tears where so great then shined off of the stars and made the sun letting the world thrive. but even in the light of the sun there are still shadows and in the shadows another god came. layoth created his own realm one where the spirts of the dead should live. while the other gods basked in arya bright sun he tended to the poor souls who died and became the gods of dead, the under world, souls and dark magic. but in the ever dark of the underworld layoth became lonely kept awake by the souls of the dead who screamed in the dark.
the war of the gods and the dawn of the dark elves- in his loneliness layoth decided to go beyond his realm to see his fellow gods and create friends. however the first place he went to was the forest where from behind a tree the saw tyia goddess of fun and innocence the daughter of kironus and gwenith. both where young gods and so layoth wanted to speak to her. at first the young goddess was frightened of the dark haired white skinned being in black plate armour but soon she warmed to him. the two became friends and soon it became love. however tyia's parents and there family and friends (the other gods) found out and tried to kill layoth so that his darkness wouldn't take over the world but in the process of trying to kill him kironus shot and arrow and in an attempt to save layoth tyia took the arrow and the young goddesses death brought all the pain and suffering into the world. layoths rage and anger and sadness birth three new gods. karioth god of rage and anger, seul god of sadness and valmor god of vengeance.
it is at this time that the elves and Imnrnago (lost kin) are mentioned. arya forged both in her and her childrens image. this ment however some where like the dark gods. these meiryari became the Dark elves while Ithalyari are the high elves, it is said that imnrnago where the chosen of the gods and formed arya front line in the war to come.
the meriyari fled to the realm of layoth. they saw him as a leader of there austorsied kin. layoth and his worshipers then started the first war of the elves and there gods. layoth killed thenmir with the god of forging own anvil. arya was blinded when karitoh slashed her across the face. however the war ended hen when kironus's arrow pieced layoth heaart banishing him back to his realm along with his allies.


the war itself however birth one more god. the lord of all dark called Gendrar also know as the god of demons. he is oftent called even today by Rak'i ker I Meir (lord of all dark)
the founding of the dynasty's- with layoth and his allies banished the gods needed to make kings to lead the elves. thenmir had three strong sons alwin, theomir and elran. each of them had married fair elven maidens. arya blessed where three grandsons as kings of the house of alwin, theomir and elran respectively. these three kings became the first kings of the high elves. in the forest kironus son's Maredudd, Owain, Bleddyn and Artilem married elven ladies founding houses and being blessed by arya s kings of house Maredudd, Owian,Bledyyn and artirlem respectively. lethia had married a handsome elvish sailor and had 7 daughters and 7 sons founding the first 14 sea elf houses and arya herself found another 20 high elf house including house Morwyn, telarrios
in the afterlife layoth had his own son tha'emir and he had married a dark elf lady creating the noble house of deokar (layoths fortress keep in his realm.)
the other gods in his realm had sons and daughter marrying dark elves and creating at least 7 more families.
with these the gods had created the first royal families in the known world save for the blairs the elves would tell us and know they looked to help there people forge realms of there own.

the age of the god king- thenmir died in the war against layoth and his mantle was handed to his son asiren. kironus remaing daughter hazellia married him and arya bestoed upon him the dragon crown.

Divine Origins

the first signs of the pantheon of the old religion can be seen on what is known as the elven coast in frank. 10 foot stone carved ornately shows all of the gods including asiren and hazelia.

Tenets of Faith

the religion teaches that the elves are the sole defenders of the mortal world. they say that elves must shepred the other races.

Priesthood

the elven priest hood was made up of elves both man and women and they had massive amounts of power within the various elven kingdoms in the former elven empire. in magara the priest hood is made of only men and they have great power in the region. but out of the magaran boarders they have no power.

Political Influence & Intrigue

out side the boarders of magara they have no power but once they held massive amounts of power in the elven kingdoms.
in magara the old faith as it is know hold great power even have religious millita made up of basically armed thugs.

Sects

wood elves tend to worship the gods hazellia, gywn and gwenith over the others as they belive these three gods protect there forest and there for there kingdoms. 
the god layoth is worshiped by the dark elves as they are said to be his children.
