House vermont of venomhall
an old house which once ran there own kingdom which stretched north into heligoland territory west into the lands which make up the duchy of Szlski and south into the lands which became part of the archduchy of olgenberg. they where famous for using poison in there weapons.
Culture
vermonts believed in strength in both men and women and so every new moon a trace of poison is given to every member of the family in a drink. it is enough for the body to have to work but not enough for it to kill.
History
origins-coming from the southern Continent like most other verainberg and germinc peoples.
The arolati tribe of verainbergurs traveled north lead by there lord Henry raspe. They made there way to the kingdom of galera. There the king who was lacking a strong army welcomed the humans into there territory gifting them plots of land to settle in.
they travelled with a store of poison and a alchemist to help keep there stores full. when the arrived like most noble families they where gifted a plot of land and they built a castle there. they named it venomhall after the poison stores that the family kept. they where a belligerent people taking land in all directions with the help of there elven supporters.
they became kings of venomhall around the same time that house of hallsberg swore loyalty to the the house of von anerian. with help from elves they and there people settled lands once held by elven kings but know left barren due to the declining elven population. the ork-vermont war saw them expand south to the olgenberg boarder east the the bank of The river of kings and west into what is know duchy of Szlski. (in there lands many minor house grew and many of these noble houses would rule in the march) war with the von anerians- the kings of verainberg the von anerians wanted the vermonts to become part of there kingdom but the vermonts where against the idea and so with the support of there elven allies and the Heligoland clans the vermonts went to war. the first war took place around 3100YBCW. king gustav vermont 1st march south with 5000 men and set fire to olgenberg. king Edyrm an elf king march 2500 men mostly cavalry to join him and lay siege to hegorhoven castle held by archduke hegor hallsberg 3rd was placed under siege. king Michael von anerian 1st marched north from his capital with what the stories say was an army of tens of thousands but is more likely to be around 6000 men. the war ended when outside the walls of hegorhoven both armies destroyed one another and gustav was forced to march what was left of his men. at least 4 more large wars where fought between the two kingdoms until the last was fought 2500YBCW when varen vermont 4th known as 'varen the venomus' was thrown down by king Stephan von anerian 3rd defeated him adding his lands to his new kingdom making them the march and making varens son lord gustav vermont 1st of venomhall and he became the most powerful lord in the march. under the von anerians the vermonts fought on the side of garon 1st during the garonit war (the first civil war within the empire) Andres vermont as temporary named emperor after his brother garon 1st eldest daughter was assassinated by forces loyal to garon 2nd (garon the blue) fall from power- garon 2nd took the throne after the defeat of the last rebels in magara he realised that the vermonts where to powerful in the march so first he started to move lord loyal to him into the march. he also took lands from the vermonts for fighting agsint him but he made sure to compncat them properly.
