Abyssal Emporium

The Abyssal Emporium is a shop selling magical items to the residents of Eumaea from a demirealm located in the Ethereal Plane. Its entrance links to all major cities of Eumaea, and can be found by those who know of its existence by getting lost in the city with the intent to find it. Additionally, an Abyssal Compass can be used to point the user to such an entrance.

Wares

The shop sells just about any magical item, both 1st party Pathfinder items and any non-legendary items unique to this setting. Some items and services sold include:
  • Wondrous Items and other magical items worth 20,000g or less
  • Potions, Wands, and Scrolls (Of spells up to 5th level)
  • Defective Magical Weapons
  • Spell copies, for adding to spellbooks. The cost for such an item is equal to half the cost of a scroll of the same level plus the spellbook scribing cost. Only spells of up to 5th level are available.
  • Equipment enchantment. The cost for this is the difference between the current cost of the equipment and the desired enchantment level. This takes one day for every 1,000g in the cost, and only up to 3 items can be done at a time.
  • Item identification. The cost is 50g for lesser items (cost 5,000g or less) and 100g for greater items.

Restricted Section

The restricted section of the store contains powerful magical items and services. The following are available there:
  • Spell copies and Scrolls of spells 6th level and above.
  • Wondrous Items and other magical items worth over 20,000g.
  • Permanency services. Permanency may be cast upon an object or willing creature for a cost of 1,000g plus the target spell's permanency cost. The target spell must already be in effect or the customer must be able to cast the spell at time of purchase.
For a list of all unique items, see the Items category.

Loyalty

All customers who shop at the Abyssal Emporium accrue loyalty points with every purchase. For every 100g spent per purchase (rounded down), the customer accrues 1 loyalty point. At various levels, customers will gain rewards.

Functions as a Type IV Bag of Holding, but telepathically speaks the words "Thank you for shopping at the Abyssal Emporium" to anyone who uses it. The bearer also gains access to the restricted section of the store.
  • 1000 points - Gold Membership card: Entitles the bearer to 30% off all purchases at the Abyssal Emporium and free identification of greater magical items.

Entries

The shop's door is magically connected to multiple quasi-real locations at once. Each major city on Eumaea has been magically linked to the shop, and an entrance to the shop can be manifested there. Entrances to the shop appear locked if someone has already entered from somewhere, and unlock when they leave. Additionally, the door locks itself if someone inside is carrying unpurchased items.

Sensory & Appearance

Immediately upon opening the door, customers are met with a rush of warmth and the woody-yet-spicy smell of incense burning. A tinkling bell rings to signify their entrance, and a number of wind chimes near the entrance may rustle with the incoming breeze.

Denizens

Hikariyomi Yukina works here, but it is unclear whether she is the owner or if someone else runs things behind the scenes.

Contents & Furnishings

The store's most prominent feature is its ornate stone fireplace, with a fur rug of some unidentifiable beast on the flagstones before it. There are comfy red armchairs around the fire where one might relax and have a cup of tea while reading a spellbook.   The store's merchandise is contained largely on various shelves that fill the room, with a wrought-iron spiral staircase leading up to a second level where scrolls and spellbooks are kept. Armor, shields, and weapons are contained on armory racks and glitter with their magical properties.   Up front by the counter is the clearance shelf where unusual magical items can be found, including the ever-popular Bananarang.
