On very chilly terms with Cimil after a verdinian ship opened fire on a ship flying the Cimil flag, on which Yum III Cimil was sailing and lost her hand and nearly her life. He refused to apologize and said the ship had acted threatening. Yum III then suspected him for the assassination of her mother and the terms reached an all-time low as Yum and newly wed Mercedes decided to attack a verdinian diplomatic ship after which the king denounced Cimil's partial divinity.
Also on very chilly terms with Elize Kindling after pretty much strong-arming her into selling weapons to Verdina for their war against Kaitoa. Her weapon supply was strangled when Mercedes accidentally bought it all for her brother instead, and the king was very angry about the lack of deliveries.
However, he was very recently assassinated by unknown means. Few tears are probably shed, but no one knows what that means for the already explosive political turmoil.
