Structure

Currently (210 ADW) the Verdinian Kingdom is an absolute monarchy where the king or queen hold supreme autocratic power. The power of the nobility have been curbed and serve more as glorified bureaucrats and governors rather the than semi-independent rulers usually associated with their titles. There exists a council of educated laymen and competent noblemen who counsel the king and who offer him suggestions for new laws, but in the end the will of the king is absolute. The structure of Verdinian society is a hierarchical pyramid where the king is at the top, all ministers, judges, generals and titles of nobility are bestowed by the crown.
