Corax Hand of the Undying King (a.k.a. The Angel of Death)

Corax's loyalty is as undying as his King. Created originally as a warden, made to watch over the world, he came under the service of Lekhoaba as the Primordial Kingdoms took shape. Because of his devotion to her and her new Seraph, he soon became well accustomed to their ideals and transformed into the Angel of Death.
As a Warden angel, it was his duty to observe and so he was given a book by his King, the Carrion book of Shyish, a name that would later become the name of Lekhoaba's Plane, in honour of Corax and his work. He recorded the names of each citizen as they were born, carrying their souls within him, once they died. Corax never had a soul, much like the other Angels, but instead, he absorbed the souls of the fallen citizens of the Kingdom of Death. This gave him an unfiltered comprehension of the concept of death. As one learns of death, so too does one learn of life. Corax became the first living Angel, capable of consciousness, reason, desire, pain, and fear.
It soon became apparent that he would never be enough to house all of the countless dead, but as Lekhoaba was working to create what would later be known as Shyish, the attack began. An unknown Seraph ravaged the Kingdom, slaughtering all of its inhabitants, but trapping their souls. Lekhoaba was none the wiser until she had completed her realm and returned to a barren and wasteland of the corpses of her beloved people and their wailing souls unable to fill the paradise she had created for them.
Corax, among the dead, swore vengeance upon the Seraph that had brought this destruction to his people and trapped his soul in stasis. He was able to retain some consciousness, for the ability to visit the souls of the Royal family millennia later, so that they could aid him on the path of blood he now walked, eternally. This, however, also trapped his ability to perceive the changes in the world. He cannot view the children as anything more than they were when he met them.
