Ethuria

The continent of Ethuria is a vast and relatively new one. It has only been colonised in recent years, though the reason its land-grab was left so late is unknown, lost to the history books. The continent is primarily one landmass and has been claimed only by settlements, with close to no definite borders drawn to date. Large enough to sport many different climates, Ethuria is varied from the Temperate Midlands to Southern Ethuria, to the vast Sands of Time in the far east, to the bitter and unforgiving harshness that is the Frosted Peaks and the White Wood of Dregu'ur. The largest and most prominent settlements are the Valdarian Empire, the human realm's stronghold at King's Landing, on the far West Coast; the Elven Cities in the Eternal Wood; the Dwarven keep of Winter's Bane and it's surrounding cities; and the Khaganate, of the Eastern peoples. The Great Disk is home to other layers, including the Underdark and the Infernal Plane. They each lie below the Upper Plane above, upon which Ethuria lies. The Primary Gods of the world each have a phase where their essence washes over the Disk, affecting the planes, the upper ones more so, with their influence. These phases affect Ethuria strongly, sometimes causing drastic changes to the land, or ripping tears in reality, through which incomprehensible things can emerge. Those who visit Ethuria are gamblers of fate and not one of them is truly docile at heart. Only the strong and stubborn can survive there, only the bold can brave its Wildlands and only the truly powerful and worthy can make a profit. It is an unforgiving new land, and it will not hesitate to rip hope from an underprepared young child in moments, nor will it leave anyone who deserves reward empty-handed.
