WayLine

A WayLine (Line) is a WayHall path between two worlds. Each Line is about 1.5 KM in breadth, with a soft limit that drifts out into uncertain hyperdimensional space. Travel moves fastest at the center of the Line, but as you drift closer to the edge, temporal distortions and hull damage can occur.

If you leave the Line entirely you will be seemingly frozen within temporal distortions, a sitting target for passerby to take shots at for fun. Someday, the rounds will finally hit—seemingly all at once for the hapless crew stranded within the distortion.
