Session 13 - The Ord Gate

General Summary

With Bagron dealt with, The Phantom arrived with an entourage posing as a refining company. They are able to make a deal with the mine at Konigsberg to allow for refining of materials on site.   The group shows the Phantom the Ord ruins they had discovered and while there it activated and an elderly elf appeared. The elf introduces himself as Adamar and that he's from future or a version of it. Unconvinced, Willow, Yog and the recent transfer Thardan (John sr.'s character) allowed to be shown that Adamar knows how to use the Ord Gates as he calls them to teleport them to the same ruins at Dawnoak/Dustgarde. Returning back to Konigsberg, Adamar shares that an apocalyptic planar invasion happens in the future and he's attempting to prevent the complete collapse of civilization, although his teleportation to here and this timeline was accidental.   Realizing that the Ord Gate he teleported to in Konigsberg doesn't have the necessary equipment for him to jump back to his time, he decides the first thing he needs is an Arcane Condenser from Ansanna in Hazelshade. The same 3 members are sent to the Feywild where this town is located, with the means to return to Konigsberg. There they are met with some phase spiders and dispatch them with relative ease. They encounter some annoying tiny fey creatures on the way to Hazelshade that play some mostly harmless pranks on them. Arriving at Hazelshade they meet with a few Eladrin who rather rude, did point them to a location where they could stay for a night, Balwarin. The Eladrin don't use coin but rather barter for goods or favors with outsiders, and in exchange for a night's sleep and a partially used bottle of fine Elven wine, Yog allowed Balwarin to study and examine his battle axe with which he was very interested in. He remarks that it was part of the Kevavor Batallion, a group from the second planar war.   Willow went to find a leather worker to do something with the remains of a phase spider. In exchange for this task the Eladrin asked for him to take care of a Fomorian nearby. The group then headed out to the cave where some goblins also befriended the Fomorian. Willow trying to sneak into the cave in complete darkness stepped on a trap and let out a scream giving up the gig. After a battle with several goblins, a few retreated back further into the cave. Thardan used his owl familiar to scout ahead but unfortunately it was seen and promptly taken out by the goblins, but not before spotting the Fomorian.   Willow again moved ahead and was able to quietly and significantly injure the giant before running back to a narrower part of the cave where it could not give good chase. After waiting 30 minutes and nothing coming along (goblins are not known for their courage), Willow and the other 2 decide to go in and attack. Again in complete darkness Willow heads off first into the chamber, and initially sees nothing until entering upon where she discovers the Fomorian moved right next to the entrance. Still hidden by the complete darkness she was able to again deal significant damage to the giant, with Thardan finish it off. The remaining goblins attempted to take on the group unsuccessfully.
