Port Aleri

History:

Named after a famed Gnomish Admiral, Tacay Aleri who established the city as a supply depot during the conflict that resulted from the Bug Bear Push. Admiral Aleri was famed for her military intelligence but became known for her humanitarian work following the war. After her commission ended she ventured into The Reach and found the destruction and displacement of the Bugbears to be heinous in its catastrophic effects. He rededicated his life to the preservation of Bugbear Culture and the founding of Taktix Military War College.
Port Aleri has since become a destination of sorts for those seeking a life of military service, regardless of affiliation, although there is an annual scholarship for Bugbears and the families of Genasi displaced by the Fall of Flux.

Locations:

Taktix Military War College is an homage to Admiral Tacay Aleri and her principals. The College espouses her three pillar of ethical combat: 1) A just cause is the only a priori for war, 2) war should only be waged on a militarized opposing force, 3) a conquering force need only be proportional to overcome the adversary.
In for a Copper is a startup bank founded to compete with the Bank of Espen by the Genasi as a way to bankroll their continuing quest to raise an army and reclaim the list cities.
Memorial Park and Gardens was an idea by Admiral Aleri's late wife, who wanted the Admiral's sacrifices canonized upon her death. She set a small headstone, a bouquet of flowers, and her uniform as a memorial to her. Ultimately, it became tradition, heroic sailors from all over the world who sacrificed for a cause were nominated and interred here. The adjoining gardens has become a traveler's camp for military retirees and has a strict non-violence policy.
