Bank of Espen

Humans' wealth and opulence grew to a legendary status. So much in fact that humans became regular targets along the roads to and from Hatchetwink's and other known trading areas.

A Goblin sorcerer , one who was particularly adept with numbers was brought in to fix this issue. He pulled the greatest minds of the time, a wizard from the Gnome Council, a human mapmaker, a dwarven engineer, and even an Elvish bard wrote the bylaws. The result? The Bank of Espen. Their motto was security first, and to truly live up to their motto the sorcerer, the gnome, the dwarven engineer, and the bard all sealed themselves inside the first vault at the Bank of Espen taking their secrets with them to the grave.

Few understand the vaults or how they function but one thing is for sure, humans were no longer the targets they once were, with their treasures safely behind the doors and the seal of the Bank of Espen
