History & Lore

While the best stoneworkers live in Dwarvish territory, the best stones are found at a quarry in Fundament. Parchment Street Marble Company has garnered recognition for its fine marble products. The store is among the oldest in Fundament and sits atop a massive quarry. Nearly every building in town is constructed of massive marble slabs. The quarry's proximity to the ocean gave it an unusually high concentration of salt in its makeup which has led to a remarkable luster in stones harvested from this site.
It also has led to Parchment Street's motto, "you'll know us by our shine."

Ownership:

Pepper Bentklaw, the owner of the quarry has made a name for herself by shipping her rare marble all over the world (for top dollar). This is a bit of a family tradition, as her great-great-grandmother established the company by brokering a deal with The Guilded Reserve, in Alttanes. Marl Bentklaw established a contract for Parchment Street to supply any and all marble, for every Bank of Espen...in perpetuity.
