Elderwood-Montgomery Technologies

Structure

The president/CEO oversees the entire company and approves any projects. He must know the ins and outs of the EM Tech code of ethics and ensure that all projects and procedures remain in line with those requirements.   The publicist makes sure that the company's name gets out there, that the generalities of their work and projects are known and freely discussed, but that the specific details of its projects are not leaked--so that Grantech has no opportunity to steal ideas wholesale.

Culture

Elderwood-Montgomery Technologies was founded on the principles that science should serve the people and be accessible to the people--without Grantech holding a monopoly on any technology that Concordians may have need of or interest in.   Experimentation is encouraged of EM Tech's employees, to the end that new beneficial uses for technology might be uncovered, as is openness concerning their work. If you're inclined to hide your research, those around you may wonder if there's something questionable about it. On the other hand, they are savvy enough to know that whatever goes public is likely to make its way to Grantech's ears, which means they are fairly cautious about what they say outside of their own personnel and clientele, especially as far as how much detail they share.   EM Tech has a strict code of ethics which bans its scientists from running tests on humans without consent, pursuing projects which may pose a significant health risk, basing things like biotech on any model other than the naturally-given structure (e.g. natural human biology and anatomy, or natural weather patterns), etc.

Public Agenda

EM Tech was created with the goal of creating competition and accountability for Grantech--as well as studying science and building tech that serves humans first instead of using humans to create a super-race. The aim was to draw some of the support from Grantech so that they would no longer have the money and power to do whatever they want, as well as to improve health and quality of life among Concordian citizens.
