Personal history

Adrian was born in January of 2404 to a banker father and stay-at-home mother. Adrian grew up with strong relationships with both of them, but he was smart enough that they never quite knew how to handle him properly, despite their best efforts. For the most part, Adrian kept himself occupied with puzzles, books, and the internet's endless stores of knowledge. He was already an expert in genetics by the age of fifteen, and he graduated high school at sixteen.
Adrian would have headed straight to Tark University after graduating, but his parents asked that he wait until he was eighteen, hoping it would make his years at college easier socially. The year he turned eighteen (2422), Adrian was placed in a top-secret Grantech testing facility to determine if his skills were up to Grantech's standards. Though Adrian passed the test, he'd never trusted Grantech, and combining this with their "unconventional" testing methods resulted in him turning down their lucrative offer.
The questionable testing Adrian experienced at Grantech sparked an idea in his mind of building a competitor company for Grantech, and he set about planning such an idea with the help of the other three students who'd been tested by Grantech: Laena and Marina Hawthorne, and Isaiah Newman.
After getting his four-year degree in genetics from Tark University as planned, Adrian and Laena spearheaded his plan to build a competitor company: Elderwood-Montgomery Technologies. It took two years to gain the funding necessary for their first steps, a task made more difficult by interference from Grantech, but they were successful.
Though Adrian, Laena, Marina, and Isaiah were all huge parts of the company, it was mutually decided that Adrian and Laena should be the official heads of EM Tech, with Adrian as CEO since it was originally his idea. Adrian and Laena, who had always seen eye-to-eye on most issues surrounding Grantech and EM Tech, came into the public eye as a couple--though all "evidence" toward this claim was taken from work meetings outside of "official" EM Tech business--and, not wanting to make a big stink over it with the press and deciding that it would be more efficient to live together anyway, got married after a year or two of journalistic pestering despite having no romantic feelings toward one another. They remained content in their platonic marriage until their deaths.
Adrian had no children, devoted to his work and the people around him rather than a conventional family.
He died in 2494, at the age of ninety.
