Samarus the Prophet

Samarus the prophet is thus named for lifting the Southern Savages from out of the dirt unto greatness. Before Samarus' arrival, the Akiri people were tribal canibals left to scavenge what little of their land that was not decimated by The Scorch. Now they are a colourful civilization, their city Akir a gleaming jewel atop the red cliffs of the Abyssal coast nessled amongst the dramatic dunes of The Sands. While Sanarus has long since departed the land of the Living, his descendants yet thrive, their lifespans greater than that of other folk.
The scriptures held at The Temple of the Sun tell of an adolescent boy emerging from the Scorch, silhouetted against the red sun. Where he came from ot how he survived the crossing, noone knows. Wiery and weak from his desert trials, he was not welcomed by the dark skinned people he encountered by the coast, but threatened. Those Tribal Akiri who challenged him fell to the boy's prowess with the blade. Now revered by the southern tribes, Samarus showed them a new way of life - how to love and be civil, how to build and to connect with others, how to govern and to thrive.
