Hodrim (Halflings)
The Hodrim are a subrace of humans, known for being half the height of men. Unlike the other races, their origin is unknown. A few appeared one year in Haben with no memory or knowledge of where they were born. Soon they began to procreate amongst themselves and with humans. This occurred in the year 285 and many scholars are still puzzled by this. Divination magic and speaking to powerful Spirits has revealed no answers. Clerics and scholars believe that magic was used on humans at one point, infusing the Hodrim with Essense. It was clearly some work by a Spirit, but it was never discovered who did it. If the Hodrim elders know they have not revealed it.
Since that time, Hodrim have begun spreading out, much like their tall counterparts, but the largest collection is in Haben. Families have gone to Suthoran but the majority of those who wanted to start their own communities have made their way into The Wilds.

Civilization and Culture
History
The Hodrim appeared in Haben in the year 312 and came walking up the road from the south. Over 50 Hodrim, all in different groups, made their way into the town with no memory of anything. The clerics and wizards were able to ascertain which of the Hodrim were related to one another... but other than that they could not figure out anything else.
