Humans

The humans of Ersterwald are no different than a human that could be found today. Each human is unique, each with their own physical build, personality, beliefs, and experiences. Every human has a completely different way of going about life as well; one could do all they can to live an honest life, while the next could scheme and steal throughout theirs. The average lifespan of a human is around 70 years, with some living to be up to 100 years old. For the most part, the average human is fairly intelligent, but their most outstanding trait when compared to the orcs, gnomes, and elves would be their charisma. Most humans debate and barter their way through their problems in Gadael.   Because of their natural charisma, even in the middle of the life-threatening Ersterwald forest, humans have developed a trade-based economy ruled by receipts of the goods traded. Most humans would do anything for a good deal, and due to that, their charisma has allowed a stereotype to evolve from it. Most of the other races find them as deceptive and selfish liars, while most humans would just say they’re just trying to look out for themselves.   Their current form of government is that of a democratic based one, where humans elect representatives and argue their cases. A paperwork documentation system has also formed to accompany their democtraic politics. Both their trade and governmental systems have been rigged by Sylvain Andilust, the current human leader, to benefit and empower him the most.   The humans have no necessary qualms against the other races, but most have issues with them. Of the other races, the humans are most strongly allied with the elves. Out of the three, they’re the most confident in their ways of life and tend to be the most agreeable. Plus their heavy reliance on magic is great for protection from the horrors of Ersterwald. Their fondness towards the elves could be due to the elves being the first race they had encountered in Argoll besides themselves though.
