Gadael

Gadael was formed in 1810 by the Gnomes. With the Alliance of Gadael in 1817, the city was divided into four districts - Glowyr, Dynol, Dryadalis, and Krieger. Glowyr is the seat of the Gnomes at a population of 300, Dynol is the human district with a population of 500, Dryadalis is the district of the elves also at a population of 500, and Krieger is the orc district with 700 individuals as of 1823.   Glowyr rests on the southwest corner of Gadael, with the canal between them with Krieger to the southeast. Dryadalis borders Glowyr to the northwest and Dynol rests to the northeast. Each boundary is clearly defined by either the canal or fences in the architectural style of the bordering district. In the center of all the districts lies the Citycenter Congregation where the council leaders of each district hold meetings. Outside of this building is the market, where the district leaders meet every Friday to distribute and trade their resources among the other districts. Dryadalis is home to the renowned Mages Guild and Krieger supports the Fighter's Guild. Racial tensions run high among most members of every district. It's no secret that the humans and elves often band together in council arguments against the gnomes and the orcs, and vise-versa.   Although all of the members of Gadael are struggling to survive against the harshness of Ersterwald, their districts have distinct cultures and architecture that the settlers brought with them from their respective homelands. A magical barrier called the Barrier Projector keeps Gadael protected from the lesser monsters running amok in the woods, along with rudimentary wood and stone fortifications around the outside of each district.
