The Market and District Storehouses

At the converging point of the four districts, there is an established communal area that serves as a gathering point where resources are shared. In this market, there are four large warehouses used for storing the produced materials of each district. As ordained by the Council of Gadael, each district leader and their trustees must bring all of the resources that their population produces to their district storehouse so that it can be traded with the other districts in the marketplace. This is done at the end of the day every Friday. On Saturday, district leaders are expected to divide the rations equally among all the people in their district that are accounted for in their bi-monthly census.   Throughout the entire day of Sunday, all households of each district are to come to their local storehouse and claim their rations for the week. District leader trustees ensure that no one takes anyone else’s ration in their stead in the event of stealing, though stealing and tyranny is sometimes reported in the districts, particularly the human district of Dynol.   Dynol’s storehouse is notorious for having a stockpile of resources that is disproportionate to the other district storehouses. Resources conveniently appear in Dynol on the week that one of the other districts begs for more fish, wood, or meat and offers to trade a higher amount of their resource production. It is rumored that the Humans are keeping a hidden stockpile of surplus resources directly outside of Gadael in the woods that they use to gain the upper hand over the other races, but the rumor is kept down by the current Human district leader and his trustees and the other leaders are not sure how to confront them without inciting civil unrest that would be detrimental to all of Gadael. Glowyr’s storehouse is used for storing many metals. Gems are kept locked in a vault in the basement of the storehouse. Dryadalis’s storehouse manages wood, paper, and textiles. Krieger’s storehouse is built as a meat locker for hunted animals and fish.
