The most dangerous of Terra Nova's jungles is the Moonglow Jungle. Home to both the resilient Saurin and the watchful Mungoo, the magically infused Moonglow Jungle is a nexus of mystical energies, which has produced all manner of strange and dangerous flora and fauna. Monstrous beasts, highly poisonous plants, magical hazards, and malevolent spirits all make travel through the region highly diffucult, except for those areas made safe by the Mungo and Saurin.
Surrounded on multiple sides by rivers and marshbeds, the Moonglow can be a sweltering and humid place. This is quite agreeable to its residents, though it becomes exhausting to visitors who are used to cooler climates. Known to its inhabitants, the region must also deal with supernatural residents. Magic Eaters, who are drawn to areas saturated with magic, and Shadows, whom constantly attempt to escape from the Penumbra, haunt these jungles in addition to its physical dangers.
The more amicable residents, the Mungoo and the Saurin, have been living in this region for as long as they can remember, and the Mungoo can remember quite a lot. Hidden somewhere in these jungles, the Mungoo Gravemind resides, a huge, only occasionally animate Mungoo who is a repository for the memories of their dead kin. Seen as a paragon of their kind, and a gift from Great One, the Gravemind is sacred to the Mungoo, and is protected with a fierceness not often seen in their kind. In close proximity to both the Gravemind and their Saurin friends the Mungoo thrive. They seem to prefer to role of mentor, often seen teaching and guiding the Saurin, especially concerning new ideas brought to them by visitors from Erolan.
Similarly, the Saurin house their gigantic, well fortified village here, centered around a huge cave, one of the many that riddle the region. To the Saurin, this particular cave is valued above the others that seem common to the Moonglow Jungle. This cave, known to the Saurin as the Birthing Cave, houses the entirety of the newborns of their kind. New Saurin eggs are found here, and cared for by the tribe, until the new Saurin are hatched, young but not defenseless. Even newborn Saurin are strong, though inexperienced, and could tear a foe apart if need arose.
These two tribes consider the Moonglow their territory, and work together to defend it from outsiders, each seeing the other as a valued family member. With the arrival of visitors from Erolan, these two factions have been exposed to new cultures, and have begun learning from them quickly. Having aligned themselves with the Settlement of Port Harmony, their forces were instrumental in pushing back the undead legions of the Janja. Now, with the rest of Terra Nova, they step into an uncertain future.
In the early weeks of the Spring of 1024, reports from the Moonglow Jungle seem largely unchanged. Saurin and Mungoo live largely untroubled, though many reports of mysterious travelers wander the jungle. Even for the watchful guardians of the Moonglow, it seems impossible to track down and question these wanderers, with them quickly disappearing into the deep jungles leaving no trace. The Mungoo of the Moonglow feel a heaviness in the air, a feeling for them akin to apprehension, that seems to have no apparent source.
9/1024 - The Moonglow Jungle has continued to grow healthy and strong, the effects of the events that happened during Sekhaten's release from the Penumbra having bolstered the health of the local flora. The Gravemind has released several node spores, now able to communicate with its kind from significantly farther distances. The Saurin, fresh off their celebrations, continue to scout the jungle paths for the strange wanders who continue to elude them.
