Adam Farrow

Dare I say it, if it weren't for Farrow the Revered Priest, we might not have made it out of the darkness and into the enlightened age under the light of the Twelve. I shudder to think of how degraded we would have become without their divine providence.
— Rogan Maltheis, Revered Priest of Bartholomew
As the early years of the Rhyliss Empire moved into a golden age of expansion and development, a major problem was present in how many different sects existed following each deity known in the world. A decision was made to bring together followers of the deities which would eventually become the Twelve, and unify the more civilized sects into a central religion which would support the people under the Imperium. The architect and motivator behind this movement was named Adam Farrow, a priest of the 'Warden of Walls'. It was with great patience (and not a small bit of well-meant dishonesty) he kept bickering sects from dissolving the effort, causing the formation of the Twelve in their roughest form. Proceeding from this point, his efforts were instrumental in securing sites for major temples on behalf of the Twelve, and folding various sects into the twelve orders which now were becoming their own distinct organizations. For his troubles, he ascended to become the High Priest of Opalis among eleven peers who likewise became High Priests of their respective orders.

In the later years of his life, Adam attempted to barter with a lesser king who ruled over a large island to the southeast of the Empire as a place to centralize the orders' leadership. When rebuffed, various bands of adventurers took to the task of dismantling the offending kingdom and turning it over to the 'Twelve Orders' in return for being remembered for their sacrifices in the name of the gods. To this day the Slab of Execution rests in a place of honor where the names of these adventurers are etched in twelve stone pillars supporting that structure. Adam was not content to stop at merely securing the land, as he saw fit to negotiate and ensure none of the other orders received less than the others or were given unfavorable positions with regards to the Exalted Isle. Some accounts say his efforts led to a number of dissatisfied followers attempting to get their way through murder, but there is a notable lack of other evidence supporting this as having a historical basis.

Following his passing, Adam Farrow was given a new title of 'Revered Priest' to recognize he had passed away in good standing with the Gods. Many generations later, his presence was written into a revision of the Book of Twelve as residing at the right hand of Opalis, Warden of Walls. In this capacity he served as demi-divinity in charge of establishing and maintaining order inside cities paying honor to Opalis.
