Unicorn Hair

Unicorn Hair are strands of colored hair that will bind to ones own hair when applied with Spirit Magic, altering its color to the vibrant shade (or shades) selected.
The bound hair will retain the color until it is unbound. As each strand must be bound individually, it is a time consuming process.
Unicorn Hair is hard to come by as it was brought from the Eastern Continent with the Evestrians when they fled Evenaria. It is treasured by the families that have it and passed down with other important relics through inheritance. As Unicorns are only in Fairy Stories, many have sought the magic to recreate these highly sought after cosmetic items, but most believe it was lost in time.
Due to the rarity and time consuming application, Unicorn Hair has become something primarily for the aristocracy or those of great wealth.
When not in use, the hair is braided and stored in air tight, ornately carved cedar boxes that have been lined with silk.

Origin

Unicorn herds once dotted the feilds of Evenaria, before the New Life Fellowship came. Those with gentle spirits could approach and, using currycombs, comb loose and collect shed hair.
