Ronan
Lord of Nemel’s Knights Stone, younger brother of Queen Farrel, and wed to Telephasa. They have one son, Cadmus. Ronan was born with an identical twin brother, Corentine.
Ronan and Corentine (Coren) looked exactly alike, but were complete opposite in outlook; Ronan was half full and Coren half empty. Ronan saw the circumstances of their birth a blessing- born to the royal family without a single want; Coren felt completely robbed being born after the heir- their older sister. Ronan was giving and Coren was happy to take, take, take.
When Ronan and Coren were three years old, they were each given a wooden on wheels- and an actual horse. Ronan received a black horse and Coren a white one. The wooden white horse had a bit of paint scratched off on the stomach, and Coren was deeply offended- and he let everyone know it. Ronan was happy to take the white wooden horse, and he gave his brother the unscratched black one. Shortly after, Coren got a new white toy horse anyway, and he tossed the black horse aside. Later, Coren came across Ronan racing his scratched white horse and the black horse. Coren takes the black horse from Ronan and stomps on it until it breaks. Ronan gathers the pieces and brings them to his big sister, Farrel, who wraps it in one of her scarves; they bring it to the stable and bury it under a tree. This is a pattern that will repeat itself throughout their lives.
