Eladrin

The Eladrin, from the old Elvish word for Firstborn, are the Sempercreational ancestor race of elvenkind and considered to be the firstborn Children of God, His first creation. Their Sempercreational aspect is the soul, which because it is closest to God is considered the highest. As a result, the bodies and very personality and skill of the Eladrin change with the cycle of the Ever-Created in the most visible way possible to the Children races, manifesting as changes according to the cycle of the seasons (although unlike in the Material Realm, this progression lacks regularity). Eladrin are also known to change gender.
When Eladrin pass over, they lose these abilities due to the Rule of Death and reproduce as Elves but they do retain their distinct appearance and magic. For this reason and their appearance in myth and legend, people presume them to be messengers of God on special missions.
