Rule of Death

The Rule of Death or the Rule of Finality is the name given to a hard natural law engrained into the nature of the Material Realm that renders every creature's essence corrupt and final, removing any Sempercreational nature irrevocably by changing the nature of the creature to accord with the Once-Created's finite and linear nature. Scholars widely hold that it is the result of the Fall of the Children and the Birth of Death, a punishment from God for the children who pridefully arrogated to the powers of creation. In Filian theology, the Rule of Death has been considered a gift as well, as it is believed that the existence of death and finality is the only way by which creatures could create with free will and meaning, separately from their Creator. The Rule of Death is considered to be part of a divine plan by which God wishes to let all his creatures eventually share in recreation and unity with Him. It is also considered to be a mechanism which brings souls back to unity with their Creator.
Scholars speculate that the mechanism by which the Rule of Death works is by imperfectly separating the five essential aspects of soul, spirit, body, destiny and affinity, which in the Ever-Created are united and interconnected in each creature and connected to the cycle of the world. The effects the Rule has had on the Sempercreational races to produce the different Children races is presumed to be a function of the leading aspect of each creature.
The Rule of Death was named for a passage in the Book of Visions of Saint Daema which echoes the Elvish prophets, promising and presaging that "the Rule of Death shall end".

Manifestation

Any creature in the Material Realm must die when it is his time, and exist within this time.

Localization

The Rule of Death applies only in the Material Realm (although its effects carry through to the Ever-Created), as it is considered an integral part of the linearity and finality of the material existence.
