Aasimar

Aasimar bare the mark of their celestial touch and it varies for each individual. For some the mark is subtle and others it is more overt. Most commonly they are very similar to their mortal parents, but possessing other worldly good looks and often significantly taller. Most aasimar have pupil-less pale white, gray, or golden eyes and silver hair, however they can exhibit other traits depending on their celestial ancestry. Those descended from planetars could also have emerald skin, while those descended from avoral celestials might have feathers mixed in with their hair. Those descended from ghaeles often have pearly opalescent eyes. Solar-descended aasimars often have brilliant topaz eyes instead or silvery or golden skin and those with couatl or lillend lineage most commonly have small, iridescent scales. Many aasimar can also have a light covering of feathers on their shoulders, where an angel's wings might sprout. As with any plane-touched aasimar bloodlines could sometimes run dormant for generations, reemerging after being hidden for some time.   Because of their ties to the goodly gods and celestial beings, many aasimar are drawn to a religious path and most aasimar spell casters call on divine magic as opposed to arcane magic. A great many become paladins, most in the service of good, and the philosophy of paladins often resonated strongly with aasimar.   Most aasimar grow up cautious around others and, like tieflings, are often misunderstood, though never to the hateful extent many of the fiendish bloodlines are. Even those raised in the most understanding environment can not escape their strangeness, or the curiosity and fear that their unique nature sometimes provoked. Many aasimar even suffer prejudice, something that deeply hurts the soul of the aasimar in question since most have an inherent bent towards empathy for others.   Aasimars are often treated as a good omen and a physical token of a family being favored by the gods. Great importance is placed upon them to fulfill some great destiny or prophesy. Because of this people tend to view them as more of an object or link to their faith and less of mortal that they are. Aasimars a generally wary of others and don't feel much of connection with the kindred of their mortal parentage. They instead feel a more substantial connection to half-breeds. They tend to get on well with half-elves, half-orcs, and other plane-touched. Aasimars tend to have an indifference towards most other races and are naturally confrontational with teiflings.    Though most aasimars have naturally good tendencies, not all are so. Some are less than nice and a few are even outright cruel. Some fall into the trap of evil never to escape or be redeemed. Changed and scared by a harsh life or even corrupted by the influence be a dark power these Fallen seek out power for their own dark ends and often leave devastation and misery in their wake.
