Arion Belgarde of Corvalionne
A Half-Elven artist of some renown around the turn of the millennium in Valderia. Famed especially for his photo-realistic paintings and impressive portrayals of mythical beasts.
Early claims to fame included his live-painting exhibitions at the Corvalionne College of Art, where audiences could watch the quick young artist work in real-time, and his part in The Lothell Expedition in 953, the adventures of which were documented in his sketches, and which brought to Corvalionne some of the earliest first-hand visual accounts of the existence of dragons.
Belgarde credited The Lothell Expedition with turning him "from a mimic into an artist", having had the chance to observe a truly impressive subject in the flesh; something that would not simply sit for a painting (or refrain from trying to eat him, for that matter, with near success).
Latter accomplishments include work on murals in the Royal Palace itself, and no shortage of famous commissions from the noble houses of Corvalionne.
