Undead

Undead is the collective term for several species, which are divided into two groups. Those being corporeal and incorporeal. Corporeal undeads are animated remains, either by wild magic or a mage. They are mindless with only a basic awareness of their surroundings. They are, however, fairly sensitive to changes in the flow of arcane energies. They react to these disturbances by trying to remove it. This causes them to attack the source, usually mortals in the area. Incorporeal undeads are the spirits of the dead which has been pulled backed from the beyond. They dissipate after the spell has ended, unless they are tethered to something.

History

The first undead was created when the dead in a shallow grave was flooded with magic. Animated by the magic, the dead crawled their way out of their graves. Over time, this happened again and again. As it happened, mages eventually understood how it worked and learned to replicate it. From that, they also discovered how to drag the dead back from the beyond.
