On the planet Struka of the Vortex System, hostile contact was established with a member of an ancient, forerunner alien species calling itself the Arr'kai. This alien, named Quelakki, is the leader of an interplanetary cult dedicated to his cause. Members of other religions, which had all but died out up until this point, found themselves possessing distinct psionic abilities that even noomancers couldn't replicate. From these two events, it was clear that greater entities inhabit the solar system. Perhaps they truly are gods, or other aliens similar to Quelakki with their own, hidden agendas. Only time will tell.
