Homeward Pilgrimage
At least one time in their life, usually around their 20th year of life, most Terrans seek to return to the birthplace of their ancestors: Earth of The Terran System, and experience its many facets... while also making stops to several other planets along the way.
History
This pilgrimage began as a simple "coming of age" tradition for martian communities after the first permanent colonies were established. This process often involved months of training in artificial gravity environments, saving considerable amounts of wealth to afford shuttle tickets and boarding, and of course requiring plenty of planning. It showed that one was capable of taking care of themselves in a totally foreign environment; from the air they breathed to the ground they walked on.
