The Sundering of Epsalonia

In the year 0 AS, the world of Epsalonia was no more.  This is the year that Nature could no longer handle the technology and ignorant ways of its creatures.  This is the year that the Gods and Goddesses retook the world and punished the residents.
Before this, the world was filled with peoples that had gone beyond what was thought possible technologically.  They were on the verge of opening portals into other worlds of existence.  To cross through to different dimensions, times, or even different universes.  
Some of these humanoids lived in tall unnatural buildings.  Some lived in huts and took care of the land.  There were still others that were somewhere in between.
The world has once been full of green, and colors, and now it was full of greys with dots of green everywhere.  The other species of creatures on this world were dying, faced with unnatural things within their own world.  
When the world and deities had finally had enough, they sent storms, and monsters into the world.  They moved the ground and pulled apart the unnatural buildings.  People were thrown about, dying, or crippled. Others hid underneath and were spared dependent upon their thoughts, and what they had done with their lives.
As the world roiled, moved, and crumbled, landscapes changing shape within minutes, the Gods watched from above.  They saw some trying to stop this happening using their "technology".  This angered them, and they moved to their final atrocity.  They took the world, like a piece of paper, tearing it in two, three, four and five pieces.  The pieces were "placed" back, close but far apart.  
After this, the world quieted.  The lava stopped spewing, and the ground stopped moving.  This is where the Gods left this world to its devices, to grow back, and to heal.  This was the Sundering of Epsalonia.
