Gar Marches Adventurers Militas to Jaileen

611 AU, Saldag (4th day) in the First Galend of Chefror (day 49 of the year, 6th day of Chalice in the month, of the Fox Dragon Isles calendar)   Group (Flarty, Gwen, Llied and Uoret) met outside of Militas, some being hired by Stero Kemp , while others had paid for transport to Jaileen.   On the way they met some pilgrims from a foreign land, Flarty Critically failed to speak with them and scared them. Gwen was able to speak to them (Dragon Isles).   Traveled down the March Way to and Inn at a cross roads (Black Sheep Inn and Tavern . Several rumours were found: 1. Children have gone missing from nearby village.   Continued down the road in the rain until they came to the next stop, The Proud Fox where they all met Sean Greene the owner. Flarty spoke very late into the night with the owner.   Next day they arrived in Barsim where Stero Kemp asked Flarty and Llied to help here carry a piece of furniture into a very fancy house. The room was empty and they did not see anyone in the house. Flarty met up with his family. Other party members went to shops and taverns. Gwen tried to meet up with the Principal of the College of Light, Principal Torri Calon,   Continued along the road to Garabas and the Golden Fen. Continued into the town and the Market Square. Next day they went to the docks and the sea was too rough so they stayed an extra day.   Llied and other walked around the Market where Llied saw a Thieves / Steket training exercise for a pick pocket (but they had a funny tattoo on their arm.) Llied approached the training people but they ran away. Later in the market she saw others and talked with them using slight of hand Thieves Cant.   Later that night Llied met with the head of the local Thieves, Braddocke, who welcomed here but also required an 'entry fee'. proof of the death of the interlopers (tattooed thieves) and a Gold Piece.   The PCs continued their trip with Stero Kemp across the Gar Estuary to Carninsby where they waited for the Caravan to Jaileen to start. During the night they met several people at the local taverns and did not gather much in the way of rumours. They suspected that the pub by the docks may know things about smuggling but they were not sure.   Continued on the road and at nightfall had arrived at Harnsey. The gates were closed and the Caravan was told to form up in a circle. After dusk two guards from the village came out to help with the watch. The guards were talking among themselves about something terrible that happened further along the trail towards Jaileen.   Next morning the local lord Serr Caitir Comey comes out and tells a tale of the caravan from Jaileen is late and has been attacked by Wyverns. He will accompany the caravan for 1/2 the next day. just before noon they encounter what was left of the caravan. Dead half eaten horses and people. with most of the carts/wagons torn apart and strewn all over the place. Gwen decides to take samples of horse hide, hair, bones, teeth and blood (for some unknown use).   The caravan continues beyond this horror scene but without Serr Comey's guards. He had previously excused himself and returned to his village.   That night everyone was nervous but other then seeing wolves not much else occured.   The next day was a very long day and they pushed on so as to make the town of Jaileen . It was well past dusk as they crested a hill and could see Jaileen. At the same moment they were ambushed by over 20 Goblins. Flarty turned his horse around and started a charge at the closest group of Goblins. Uoret started firing arrows and Llied jogged off to attack the Goblins from behind.   The goblins did some serious damage to other members of the Caravan. The PCs however did a lot more. Uoret had several critical hits as did Flarty, while Llied's sneak attack was not a complete success because the goblin noticed her at the last second. Meanwhile Gwen had created the illusion of a Wyvern and made it swoop down on top of the goblins. The combination of the fast deaths of so many of their troop and the wyvern caused much of the goblin troop to break ranks and they bolted back into the wilderness.   After getting back on the road again they continued to Jaileen and it was quite the sight. Something none of the PCs had every seen before. the gates and the ramparts were covered in goblin skulls, thousands of goblin skulls. Stero Kemp made comment about the skulls which she did not prefer. Apparently it was a tradition from over a thousand years ago, but many of the skull were very new so...   Many of the caravan guards were grateful and quickly spread the tale of the PCs saving the day in the town of Jaileen. Stero Kemp was impressed with how well the PCs fought off the Goblins and thanked each of the PCs by buying the first two rounds of drinks at the inn once they arrived in Jaileen. Many of the towns people also thanked the PCs and offered to buy them a drink.   Continued in ... Jaileen and back to Garabas
