Dying Rule-Set

Notice: These rules are still in development and can/will be tweaked.

When you drop to 0 hit points, you either die outright or fall unconscious, as explained in the following sections.

Falling Unconscious

If damage reduces you to 0 hit points and fails to kill you, you fall unconscious. You must make a Constitution saving throw against a DC of 10 or half the damage you take, whichever number is higher. If you fail the saving throw you gain 1 level of exhaustion. This unconsciousness ends if you regain any hit points and you lose the level of exhaustion when you are healed to your half of maximum hit points.

Death-Saves

Roll a d20. If the roll is 10 or higher, you succeed. Otherwise, you fail. A success or failure has no effect by itself. On your fifth success, you become stable . On your fifth failure, you die. The successes and failures don't need to be consecutive; keep track of both until you collect five of a kind. The number of successes is reset to zero when you regain any hit points or become stable, but the number of failures is only reset by a long rest.
