The Occultation

The two siblings of the sky, Nasira and Nasila, found their differences irreconcilable. They fled to reflections of Enone of their own making, and left the prime plane in an un-ending eclipse. This lead to the creation of the Everday and the Longdark, as well as sending the prime plane into famine. The horrors and atrocities committed in the name of survival lead to the creation of some of the more horrific gods.

Nasira and Nasila have always had a tenuous relationship, one the embodiment of joy and celebration, the other shrouded in mystery and darkness. Many feared Nasila early on, her dark nights hiding the beasts that roam and creating monsters that only exist in the imagination. Meanwhile, Nasira was praised as the one who grew the plants people needed to survive, lit the day and banished the dark. This dichotomy caused a rift between the sisters, leading to Nasila blocking Nasira's light. The two fought for dominance of the sky before fleeing the plane to their own reflections. Nasira making the Everday, a lively and lush plane full of the trickster fey and their endless jubilance, while Nasira made the Longdark, a frightful plane full of shadows and the very monsters mortals thought she brought unto the plane at night.
The ceasefire between the two was only reached with the creation of Gotash by Enone. She created a god with elements of both sisters, the dark of night with the glimmer of joyous day. Gotash forms the bridge between the two. He helps to illuminate the night to allow mortals to see the beauty and mystery in it, rather than just the horrors that use it for cover. He also proceeds the night, allowing the sun time to show its other brilliant colors as the sun sets and gives way to night.
During the time that the Occultation blocked the light, the mortal realms were thrown into utter chaos. Kingdoms fell and scattered, and many dark gods formed in the Divine Flame as people began dying of starvation and wars. Isaara formed from society reflecting on itself as it crumbled, those who languished in the comforts of society suddenly left helpless as that society crumbled around them. She fled into the space between the planes, the Otherwise, but her motivations otherwise are generally a mystery. Uwerah formed from the crumbling of societies and the fear of the common folk as the world around them died. Their fear and loss of control formed into a disastrous beast of a god. Vamros had started to form as the narcissism of those in power lorded their wealth and control to excuse the acts committed in the name of their own survival over the common man, but was instead cloven nearly in two by Rhunos in an attempt to assist Mierta as these newly formed gods burst from the Divine Flame. They instead became Vam and Ros, still known as Vamros when refering to the pair. They are inseparable, and instead filled the domain of relationships between family and friends, and what little light those bonds could shed in an otherwise dark time.
