Isaara (Iss-arr-ah)
The Faceless
Isaara erupted from the Divine Flame during the Occultation, before fleeing to the Otherwise to avoid Rhunos's wrath. She was formed from the horror society had at seeing the mask of civilization removed and facing itself. Those who thought themself safe in a cooperative society quickly found themselves disabused of this notion as starvation and atrocities spread like wildfire in previously peaceful settlements. The illusion of support had faded, and the realization that people were truly alone in the world set in. The reality that their neighbors could be monsters if it would help them survive even a little longer came to light.
Isaara acts as the mirror to reflect the reality of a person back to themselves. Her true form is unknown, as she takes on the appearance of any who look at her. She stares into the soul and sees the truth of a person, then amplifies their faults back at them. She seeks to force people to face themselves, for better or worse. Finding her in the vast emptiness of the Otherwise is impossible without her choosing to make herself known. How to catch her attention is unknown, but some travelers to the Otherwise seeking passage elsewhere may find themselves staring back at themself.
