Vanath (Vah-naath)

The Soul-Bearer

When a mortal passes on, it is Vanath that oversees the recovery of the soul. He or one of his Collectors gather the soul from the fallen and bring it to Cahini to judge. They usher on the cycle of death and replenishment, and revile those who seek to subvert it. Liches and other necromancers that use the souls of their enemies or innocents defy and anger Vanath. Clerics and Paladins who follow their beliefs actively seek out and destroy these beings.   Cahini created Vanath when the population of mortals became too much for him to manage alone. They were the first god to be made by gods from the Divine Flame, and Cahini was assisted by Mierta in controlling the Flame. The core of Vanath's body glows with the light of the Flame used to create them beneath their robes. All previous gods had either emerged from the Divine Flame from the beliefs and emotions of mortals or were created directly by Enone.
