Cahini (Kah-he-nee)

The Judge

When a soul in Enone passes on, Vanath bears it safely to the realm of Cahini. It is added to the Hourglass, where one-by-one souls pass before him. He witnesses the life of the soul, and in but a moment decides if a soul is to be expended or plucked from the stream to join a god as a celestial. Only those that perfectly fit the goals and role a god needs are selected. Those that are not then pass to join the Divine Flame, to be expended and scattered anew.   There is no way to trick or fool Cahini's gaze, as he sees the truth of the soul. Some have tried, altering their soul with lost magic to hide deeds done in evil names. This leaves its mark, and his eye is keen to notice it. Some souls, those twisted and broken enough to potentially harm the Divine Flame, are also removed, though their whereabouts are kept secret. These souls are not necessarily evil, but extremely damaged. This could be the result of mind-shattering trauma from an abberation, soul-altering magic, etc. If these souls entered the Flame, it could weaken or even snuff the power source of all life and creation.
