Narman
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Narmen are a large and imposing humanoid species with thick smooth skin that ranges in color from light grey to navy blue. The color of a Narman’s skin tends to lighten as it approaches their chest and palms, as well as their foot pads. Their most notable feature is the hard axe shaped fin on their face that arcs up over their large blocky heads. They use this fin to cut through the ice. They have 2 eyes and a nostril on either side of the fin. Around where their head joins with their neck are a set of gills that allow them to breathe underwater. Additionally, the Narmen have fully developed amphibious lungs. They have a large shark-like fin on their back that they use to help control their movements while swimming. Narmen also have a set of fins that run along their muscular arms.They have long legs, with knees that bend not only front to back, but also side to side. This makes it so they can propel themselves forward in the water with their big fin-like feet. Their fin-like feet are thick at the base to provide stability when standing, and gradually get thinner towards the top to make it so they can bend easier.
Biological Traits
Arctic Adaptation: Due to being a species that evolved in the arctic, they have natural adaptation that results being more resistance to frost & being immune to effects due to cold weather. Narmen have a +50 Resistance(Frost). Additional adaptations to the arctic tundra gives a +12 Survival(Frozen).
Center Horn: The blade that protrudes from a Narman’s skull is useful as a weapon. When attempting an unarmed strike that includes a headbutt, a Narman can choose to slash with his horn. It gives a +3 WDR to the headbutt which deals slashing damage in addition to the base bludgeoning.
Large Weapon Mastery: Narman are a large creature and naturally built to use large weapons. They can use two-handed weapons of a size category larger than themselves without penalties.
Militant Tendencies: Narmen have an instinctive military loyalty from birth. They are natural soldiers. They gain a +8 Etiquette(Military) and +8 Melee skill. Their loyalty is also unmatched, they gain +8 on saves when it contradicts orders or would have them harm an ally. As well as +3 per rank below to Leadership rolls when commanding other Narmen of a lower rank.
Ocean Dweller: Narmen spend a good portion of their lives in or around the water. They have adapted to the need for long term swimming by gaining the ability to breathe underwater and gain a +12 to Swim.
Racial Feud: Narmen and Poce have a feud going back generations and is woven in the tales of their gods. The feud is embroiled in their blood and gives +10 on all checks versus the other. Neither the Poce or the Narmen naturally trust each other and often will attack the others on sight.
