Brooms
Brooms are a Mana-powered subset of Airships, usually some type of staff with a magical foci and a seat for the rider and perhaps a passenger or two. Their image has become irrevocably tied with the Mages who are the only people able to use them, racing through the skies that were once only available to Dragons and bulky, lighter-than-air aerostats.
Theoretically, as a method of transportation relying on Enchantments, it should be possible to create versions for non-mage pilots to use. However, the power source necessary to feed a broom's energy consumption would make such a device prohibitively expensive, and still less maneuverable than a typical mage's broom. Thus they have remained a strictly magical method of transportation.
