Founded by Banoclese the Bold in 835, a visionary leader who is said to have been blessed by Helios, God of the Sun. Seeking to harness the bounty of their fertile lands and the wealth of nearby quarries, Banoclese established House Ravenshield as a center of commerce and thought.

House Ravenshield, is one of the most noble and respected houses in the kingdom, has always been defined by its ideals of honor, strategy, and intellectual excellence. The house rose to prominence centuries ago under the leadership of Lord Phalenas Ravenshield, who led a coalition of independent city-states in 978 CA against aggressive pirate raids. It was his brilliance as both a strategist and statesman that saved the southern marches from destruction. His actions earned him the name “The Silver Shield,”.

The Ravenshields have long been patrons of education, art, and civic growth. Their ancestral seat, Suncrest , sits atop a rocky cliff overlooking a bustling port, reflecting their wealth, maritime prowess, and dedication to knowledge. In 1112 settlers from Ravenshield moved north to settle Sunvale. Around the same time the Ravenseye Hoplites were founded as personal bodyguards.

Members of the house are known for their ambition, and over the last century, rivalries among siblings have created fractures within the family. Despite its struggles, House Ravenshield remains a respected noble house. With Duncanous Ravenshield , a shrewd and capable leader as the local Timir, the family seeks to continue its strong legacy.
