Sunvale
History
The town of Sunvale sits on the edge of the steppes and the scratching plains. A harsh and unforgiving region where survival depends on ingenuity and determination. It was founded just two decades ago by House Ravenshield , saw the untamed plains as both a challenge and an opportunity to prove their strength and ingenuity.
The founding of Suncrest was no small feat. The first settlers were met with relentless heat, so built the settlement on the banks of a the River of the Steppes. Of course the dangerous wildlife that roamed the plains come to the river as well. Yet, guided by the strategic vision of Duncanous Ravenshield , the settlers constructed stockade walls to defend against bandits and marauders.
Today, Suncrest is a small but growing community. Its marketplace thrives, fueled by trade caravans that cross the plains carrying salt, spices, and precious gems from nearby mine near the Pass of the Sun At the heart of the town is the Oedipus Theater a large outdoor theater where plays and circuses entertain the townsfolk. Enhancing a hard life in such a hostile land.
Despite its beauty, Suncrest remains a frontier town, attracting adventurers, mercenaries, and merchants eager to make their mark. House Ravenshield’s banners still fly over the small hill fort where the garrison stays, and the local noble, heir of the house Tristinos Ravenshield rules. Though small, Suncrest stands as a testament to House Ravenshield’s unyielding determination, a beacon of civilization shining brightly against the vast, sun-scorched wilderness.
Population
The town of Sunvale has been growing rapidly, after just 22 short years since its founding it already boasts 1350 townsfolk.
Economy
Most of the locals are farmers, producing corn, beans and quinoa, which is then sold locally or to neighbouring towns. The River of the Steppes allows flat bottom boats to trade up and down the River, so dispite its size, there is goods from other towns at a higher rate than normal.
