De'o
De'o is the god of Strength, Protection, Courage, and Music. Known as the Protector of All, De'o is a popular deity whose worship is common among mortals of all races and realms. Even those who do not worship De'o directly as their main deity will pray or leave offerings to him for safe passage when traveling, to protect their homes from evil, and to watch over their families to keep them from harm. De'o delights in song, dance, merriment, feats of strength, and courage in the face of adversity. His worshipers include bards, barbarians, warriors, knights, and a plethora of ordinary peoples. His temples can often be mistaken for common taverns or mead halls, and there is some debate about whether they are not simply one and the same.
De'o is a steadfast opponent of evil; most notably, he has been and continues to be the champion of the gods against Kellarix, and was the only god with the courage to laugh directly in the face of the God of Slaughter. Ancient tales and songs tell of how De'o intervened to protect common people from such fearsome and potent evils such as powerful dragons, mad wizards, or extraplanar threats. The Order of the Sacred Heart are a Holy Order dedicated to De'o, and consider it their sacred charge to protect the people of Eltharia from harm.
Unbeknownst to all save the most learned and well researched theological scholars, De'o is responsible for the evil-aligned deities becoming aware of Eltharia after Isolde created the world. Delighted and inspired by the mortals and their lives, De'o filled his hall with songs and tales of them and their deeds upon the urging of Kellarix, and as those songs spread into the halls and realms of the other deities, they too became aware of Eltharia, as told in the Creation Myth. It is said that the Skald King's ferocity in being the champion of the mortal realm comes from a sense of duty and responsibility to protect them from his mistake.

Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
De'o appears to mortals in the form of whichever mortal race is most common among those he appears to in his travels, though he is always short, at roughly 5'4", with a lithe, dexterous frame. In all of his forms, he has long, slightly curly black hair; when taking the form of a Catfolk, he instead has sable black fur.
Apparel & Accessories
De'o typically appears wearing a sleeveless leather jerkin with matching bracers upon that cover his wrist and forearms, with matching boots and breeches. Upon his belt rests the wooden haft of a battleaxe with no head, though his followers know that this is his divine weapon, a rainbow bladed brilliant energy weapon.
