Bellatora
Bellatora is the goddess of the Sea, Valor, War, and the Moon. Unlike her sister Valda, Bellatora champions the causes of free peoples and self determination, just as the ocean is ever-changing in the ebb and flow of its tides. The most common worshipers of the Corsair Queen are sailors, soldiers, generals, and even pirates. It is said that Bellatora sails the high seas upon her ship, Luminous Virtue, crewed by the souls of those who have perished at sea.
Mortals typically pay tribute to Bellatora before setting sail, hoping to placate and show deference to this goddess for fair winds, calms seas, and favorable tides. Bellatora enjoys the adoration and generosity of Eltharia's inhabitants, though she can be mercurial in her moods depending upon which moon phase one seeks her blessing beneath. The New Moon is when she is a playful, rapacious scoundrel, beloved of smugglers and pirates for the cover of darkness she provides for their work. During the Crescent and Half Moons, Bellatora bestows her blessings upon her spellcaster worshipers, reflecting the nature of magic in her half-hidden, half visible state. Finally, the Gibbous and Full Moons are when she is at her most aggressive and ornery, favoring her soldiers, warriors, and delighting in their feats of warfare. Temples of Bellatora typically hold Grand Rites and Celebrations on the Full Moon, when the presence of their goddess is at its height upon the world.
