Alnn

One of the northern continents, Alnn is the largest single landmass on Elsinya. Framed by two mountain ranges the continent contains a variety of environments. Ranging from lust verdant forests to vast rolling planes to dry steppes and hills. Alnn has perhaps the most diverse set of peoples with humans, din, elves, dwarves, and halflings calling the continent home.   A wide variety of cultures lay claim to parts of the continent, from the northern forests that are the home of the Ohanedin to the mountaintop fortresses of the dwarves, to the massive Orvulian Empire and Corvas Sclavaa along the southern shore. The history of Alnn is shaped by the alliances made and wars fought between these many people.   Alnn also is home to one of the few constant reminders of the ruptures, the feywild. A massive forest on the eastern coast of the continent where at every rupture a tear appears, suffusing the land with magic that builds up and can remain throughout the centuries until the next rupture. Creating an almost alien landscape of beauty and terror.   Alnn sits as one of the most well-developed parts of the world, rivaling Vel'sten'nathar for its level of civility, while remaining one of the wildest parts of the world today.

Geography

Alnn can be divided into five major regions:   1. Selendaar   Selendaar is the area west of the Wverndun mountains that makes up the majority of the western coast of the continent. This is the most inhabited region of Alnn, with plentiful rainfall the area is dominated by massive forests to the north and rolling hills and plains at middle latitudes, and large dryer hills to the south. With ideal conditions and a protecting mountain range to the immediate west, Selendaar has long been a cradle for civilization and currently is dominated by the Orvulian Empire.   2. Kallaan   Kallaan lies between the low Wverndun mountains to the west and the towering Entas mountain range to the east. Kallaan consists mostly of forests to the north and is dominated by flowing plains to the south. The northern forests are the ancestral home of the Ohanedin and the Entas peaks are populated by various dwarvish fortresses. The plains are home to roving herds of horses and bison that migrate up and down the continent. This area was attempted to be settled by the Orvulian Empire in the past, but they were driven off by an alliance of Din and Dwarves. Currently, the plains contain only the decaying ruins of civilization.   3. The Feywild   This forest is located on the eastern coast of Alnn in the only major lowlands, between the Entas Peaks. This area of lowlands and hills consists of a massive forest that covers nearly all the land. At every rupture in recorded history, a tear has opened within the forest, causing it to become suffused with magic over the centuries. This has led to new species evolving within and strange geography to take over parts of the area. There is even talk of mountains that float above inland seas, but no one who has sought this mystery has returned or returned in any way to impart meaningful information.   4. Sclavaa   This hilly and mountainous region lies where the Wverndun and Entas mountain ranges meet at the southwestern end of Alnn. Dominated by steep hills and even steeper mountains, Sclavaa contains a dryer climate the further west one travels. With this mountainous nature, the area has been known for its minerals and its proximity to the sea has lead to it being a haven for sea-based animals. Currently, it is split between the Orvulian Empire to the west and Corvas Sclavaa to the east. This division has lead to deep tensions among the people who always seem to be near the bursting point.   5. Nastkaanda   This large hilly region lies on the north-eastern end of Alnn.  Situated north of the Entas mountains the region is distinct from the rest of Alnn.  It is highly geologically active, with numerous geysers, hot springs, and other forms of geological heating present.  The region is also dotted with long-thin chasms and large outcroppings of rock that tower above the rolling hills and plains.  The region also boasts incredibly thin soil, with only a few feet before solid rock is found.  The area lacks any large waterways with uncountable small streams crossing it.  Nastkaanda also boasts unique flora, with a multitude of plants that resemble crystals that absorb light and glow during periods of darkness.

Natural Resources

With its vast forests to the north along with vast plains and hills suitable to farming south of that and the mineral deposits both south and north. Alnn has a vast amount of resources that its people pull from it to seek out a living.
