Wverndun Mountains

A shorter mountain range that runs along the western coast of Alnn. The Wverndun Mountains have been instrumental in the history of civilizations on Alnn, protecting early settlements eventually harboring the massive Orvulian Empire. They also divide the continent climate-wise, separating the central-dryer plains from the lust western coast. Of all geographical locations on Alnn, the Wverndun Mountains have contributed more to history than any other.

Geography

The Wverndun Mountains is a range that stretches north to south along the western coast of Alnn. The mountains mainly consist of weathered soft mountains that slowly rise above the plains to either side. They reach their highest most extreme in the north slowly becoming shorter and softer the further south one goes. They have long served to protect civilizations west of them, providing very few easy places of passage. They have also provided substantial resources to places that can mine within them, producing large amounts of coal and iron ore to name a few.
This range is the most influential in Alnn's climate, along their western side there is plentiful rainfall and thus large forests and lush hills are common leaving the land rich for agriculture. While their eastern side is significantly dryer, especially south of Kallaan's northern forest. This has lead to vast rolling planes that dominate the central area of Alnn. Where the range meets up with the much taller Entas Mountains shorter tuff grasses cover the hilly region with common rock outcroppings.

Fauna & Flora

Trees dominate the northern sides of the mountains, especially pines that thrive along the mountain slopes. Further south grasses and shrubs are more common with occasional patches of forest. Where then meet up with the much taller Entas Mountains...
