Whalef

The Whalef family is one of the three most influential mercantile families in Endref, controlling a large portion of the fishing trade out of the Port of Lauthor and several large gem mines near the border with Leaait. Despite their wealth, the Whalef family had the smallest house on Merchants Row, with their main estate having only 38 rooms and their three guest houses throughout the Port of Lauthor limited to 36 rooms combined.
The Whalef family current consists of four primary members: Yina, the family matriarch and head of the Whalef family; Shike, Yina's husband and a burly miner; Lefnan, their oldest daughter and their representative who worked with the Faila; and Lish, their younger daughter who worked as a fisherwoman.
It had been well established, in the Whalef family, that one has to work to understand what you are working for. Their house sigil shows these values.
The Whalef family is considered to be in control of all fishing and mining operations in Endref, as well as playing a large part in settling disputes to do with labour, finances, and natural resources.
