Vanaha
Vanaha is the defacto capital of Anwer as its largest settlement. The capital of Anwer remains wherever the most influential mercenary captain has set up his camp, given that most mercenary companies were bigger than any of the established settlements. But as of 40 Eochs ago, Vanaha had become a proper settlement in its own right, and many mercenaries now stopped near it or camped by it.
The Aztan of Vanaha, Deirza, was the main force behind its growth. Vanaha had been one of the few permanent settlements before, but it was small and the population ebbed and flowed as the mercenary companies moved. After travelling to some of the other capitals and seeing the lives of luxury afforded by the ruling classes, Deirza began to wonder if such a place could be founded in Anwer, and if he could be its head. So, with the money he had made completing several dangerous jobs, he hired a huge rank of mercenaries and sellswords who were looking to get out of the business and who wanted to settle down, but who were not welcome elsewhere. With these individuals, they conducted a semi-peaceful takeover of Vanaha and after Deirza paid off the Aztan, he become the Aztan. He quickly established trade routes and working orders with other communities and began to build Vanaha into the place it was today.
Vanaha was a city in all but name, comprised of varying layers of tents and wood structures and stone walls. The city was a maze to anyone who had not been there before, as there were few distinctive landmarks to help orient visitors. The only notable landmarks were a gate frame plated with gold that marked the entrance to the city from the east, and a similar gate plated with silver facing west.
