Perteman

A Perteman is a special meeting of Xzonic warlords and Xzonic Competitor that can be called by the Champion at their will. Pertemen normally take place at the main camp of the Champion, though the Champion also has the ability to decide that they will take place elsewhere. During the Dragon's reign as Champion, he had only called two pertemen and they had both taken place at the Feral Ford.
Pertemen are normally raucous affairs, as any gathering of Competitors and warlords is bound to be. Many are conceived, many are traded, and many more die before any "good" perteman has ended. Thing of a perteman like a county fair, but twisted. There were some normal celebration aspects: drinking, food, dancing, music, battles, and lesser competitions.
But pertemen have one main purpose, and that is to bring together all the strongest fighters in the land and let them decide, collectively, about something that impacted their lands as a whole. This is usually something along the lines of whether they would allow themselves to raid into another land, whether a recent feud between two warlords was causing too much damage to other groups, or if they should work together to fix some major issue (such as a massive landslide that might now block a popular travelling route). Pertemen are both terrifying and surprisingly civil at times: decision are made by voting among the warlords and the top five non-winning Competitors. Warlords maintain the ability to add more weight to their vote by offering slaves or other goods to the Champion for additional votes, but otherwise the system is equal.
